AE students defend theses

Eight (8) graduating agricultural engineering students successfully defended their theses on March 5 and 13, 2014 at the CEIT Audio Visual Room. Their respective studies are the following:

• Performance Evaluation and Assessment of Cutting Devices for Sugar Palm (Arenga pinnata) Sap Tapping (Author: Gee Jay C. Bartolome / Adviser: Dr. Marilyn M. Escobar);

• Performance Evaluation of Fermented Fruit Juice as Organic Fertilizer for Cucumber Under Fertigation  System (Author: Mabelleona B. Cruzado / Adviser: Dr. Leyma L. Cero);

• Design and Construction of Sugar Crystal Grading Machine for Small-Scale Kaong Sugar Production (Author: Jamica Marie R. de Vera / Adviser: Dr. David L. Cero);

• Arduino Microcontroller-Based Drip Irrigation System (Author: Jonathan A. Flores / Adviser: Engr. Cesar C. Carriaga);

• Design and Construction of a Syrup-Making Machine for Small-Scale Kaong Sugar Production (Author: Aira Mae Fernandez / Adviser: Engr. Cesar C. Carriaga);

• Design and Construction of a Crystallizer for Small-Scale Kaong Sugar Production (Author: Claudine May P. Gomez / Adviser: Dr. Marilyn M. Escobar);

• Determination of the Extent of Saltwater Intrusion and Water Quality Assessment in the Coastal Area of Tanza, Cavite (Author: Michael Jordel M. Matundan / Adviser: Dr. David L. Cero); and

• Design and Construction of Kaong Syrup dispensing Machine (Author: Leahlyn C. Rodil / Adviser: Engr. Jaime Q. Dilidili).

Bartolome, finalist for CvSU outstanding student of the year

Gee Jay Bartolome and his mother together with Dr. Divinia Chavez, University President and Mr. Nicon Fameronag, Director IV, Labor Communications Office, DOLE.
Gee Jay C. Bartolome, fifth year agricultural engineering student, was one of the six finalists in the Search for the Most Outstanding Student of the Year of Cavite State University (CvSU) for SY 2013-2014. Bartolome, who was accompanied by his mother, received a certificate of recognition during the University Foundation Day celebration on February 10, 2014 at the CvSU Quadrangle. 

Moreover, Jewel S. Sanchez, fifth year industrial engineering student was named as the Most Outstanding Student of the Year. He received a plaque of recognition and cash prize of PhP 5,000.
