The Department

 History

The history of the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering program in Cavite State University dates back to 1976 when the Department of Agricultural Engineering was established as a unit of the Higher Education Project of Don Severino Agricultural College (DSAC) offering subjects in support to the BS Agricultural program. Nine years later, it was officially allowed to offer the BS Agricultural Engineering program by the virtue of Board of Trustees Resolution No. 5, s. 1985.

In 1995, the Department was renamed into Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering under the School of Engineering which was turned into a college when DSAC became Cavite State University by virtue of Republic Act No. 8468.

In 2000, the Commission on Higher Education awarded CvSU as Center of Development in Agricultural Engineering making it a recipient of funds for the procurement of equipment and improvement of agricultural engineering laboratories. The University Board of Regents through Resolution No. 26, s.2004 allowed the offering of Master of Science in Agricultural Engineering program.

In 2018, the Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering starter offering the Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (BS ABE) by virtue of Republic Act No. 10915 alongside with the BS Agricultural Engineering (BS AE) program.
