New professional agricultural engineers

Out of 1,002 aspiring agricultural engineering graduates across the nation, 396 (39.52%) of them passed the Agricultural Engineer Licensure Examination given by the Board of Agricultural Engineering in five testing sites, namely: Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Legaspi and Davao on 16-17 August 2016. The members of the Board for Agricultural Engineering who gave the licensure examination are Engr. Ariodear C. Rico, chairman, and Engr. Juana T. Tapel, member. The results were released in two working days from the last day of examination.

Among these 396 passers, five of them are from Cavite State University. CvSU garnered a passing rate of 31.25% (5 out of 16 takers). Congratulations to the latest batch of CvSU Agricultural Engineers!

PSAE-PPG wins 3rd and 4th place in TALAMIKASAN

As part of the yearly Araw ng Kalikasan Celebration initiated by the College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (CAFENR), the Philippine Society of Agricultural Engineers - Pre-professional Group (PSAE-PPG) CvSU Chapter joined the 9th Tagisan ng Kaalaman sa Kalikasan (TALAMIKASAN) Quiz Contest on 18 August 2016 to represent the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT). Melrose Salona, Erjhon Dinglasan and Jayvee Subire composed Team A; Laumar Allan Dave Grafilo, Jose Carlo Dizon and Ahman John Pejana composed Team B.

Teams A and B placed third and fourth, respectively, among the 37 competing teams from different colleges and satellite campuses of the university. The teams from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and host college placed first and second, respectively.

New faculty members

The Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering welcomes three additional faculty members in the first semester of AY 2016-2017, namely: Mr. Arjay A. Arpia, Mr. John Paulo M. Perido and Engr. Daniel G. Sierra. The first two are fresh graduates of Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering while Engr. Sierra is a registered professional agricultural engineer. Mr. Arpia handles mathematics subjects; Mr. Perido and Engr. Sierra are teaching mathematics and AE subjects.
