Drs. David and Leyma Cero participated in the Climate Change Technical Experts Forum at Dusit Thani Hotel, Makati City on April 7-8, 2010. The forum with the theme, "MECO-TECO Strengthens Partnership in Addressing Climate Change through S&T Cooperation", was attended by experts from the line agencies of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the Philippines and Taiwan.The plenary sessions were divided into three categories, namely: Climate Change Observation, Monitoring and Scenario Projection; Climate Change Adaptation; and Climate Change Mitigation. Resource persons from RP and Taiwan alternately presented papers on the different concerns. Focus group discussions followed after the presentations to discuss current initiatives of the participants and areas for future collaboration.
Dr. Josefina Rint, VP for Research, Extension and Continuing Education and Training Services of Cavite State University, also attended the forum.
The Manila Economic and Cultural Office and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office through DOST and the National Science Council of Taiwan sponsored the event.
