DAFE implements departmentalization of exams

Clusters of students taking the preliminary exam
The Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering (DAFE), headed by Dr. Leyma L. Cero, started to implement the departmentalization of examinations for all mathematics subjects offered by the department during the preliminary examination on July 23, 24 and 28, 2014. All students taking a particular mathematics subject were arranged alphabetically and clustered into 50 students per room. To facilitate hundreds of students taking similar exam at the same time, rooms from DIET and Engineering Science buildings were used.

This initiative was conducted to ensure that students are taking similar lectures and exams on their respective subject. It also aims to measure the performance of the students in general and avoid the possibility of cheating incident.

Michael P. Enriquez, John Carlo Espineli, Den Whilrex R. Garcia (all ECE 3-1) and Roxcell J. Gloriani (CE 3-1) topped the exam in Differential Equations with a score of 98%. Miguel Joseph Jacoba (ECE 2-1) topped the exam in Differential Calculus with a score of 99%. Moreover, Jayzen Lorenzo (Arch 1-2) and Kazelle Anne Sallegue (ECE1-1) topped the exam in Trigonometry and Algebra with scores of 88% and 100%, respectively. (JJLorenzo)
