Engr. Richelle Mae D. Mendoza-Olpot, DAFE faculty member, recently provided her expertise as a resource speaker for a series of lectures on Agricultural Processing. The event, aimed at empowering farmer leaders to become agricultural entrepreneurs through modern agri-fishery technologies, was held on June 18 and June 25, 2024, at Gourmet Farms Inc., Brgy. Buho, Silang, Cavite.
The training event was a collaborative effort between the Department of Agriculture - Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI) and Gourmet Farms Inc. It was specifically designed for 50 young farmers from across the country who are set to join the Filipino Young Farmers Internship Program in Taiwan (FYFIPT) Batch 4. This training served as a Pre-Departure Orientation Course, equipping the participants with essential knowledge and skills in preparation for their upcoming internship program in Taiwan.
Engr. Mendoza-Olpot delivered comprehensive lectures on key topics such as Food Process Engineering Concepts and Trends, Unit Operations in Food Processing, and Current Advanced Technologies in Unit Operations. Her presentations provided valuable insights into the latest advancements in agricultural processing, helping to prepare the young farmers for successful agricultural ventures.
The event's goal was to empower these young farmer leaders to leverage modern agricultural technologies, enhancing their productivity and entrepreneurial capabilities. Engr.
