On September 11, 2025, Engr. John Paulo M. Perido, MSc, DAFE faculty member, served as a guest speaker during the LAC Session of Lucio A. Nocon National High School, General Trias City, Cavite. The activity, titled "Greening the Curriculum: Teaching Environmental Responsibility through Science," aimed to enhance environmental awareness and promote sustainable practices in science education. It was participated in by 30 student leaders and 12 faculty members from the school's Science Department.
Engr. Perido discussed topics on climate change and sustainability, sources and effects of pollution, energy resources and conservation, waste management, and biodiversity and ecosystems. He highlighted the importance of science education in cultivating environmental responsibility.
To deepen their
appreciation of the topic, participants engaged in a group discussion, shared
gained insights during the open forum, and proposed strategies for integrating
the green curriculum into the classroom, the school, and the wider community.
