About DAFE

DAFE welcomes you!

The Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering (DAFE) of Cavite State University (CvSU) is one of the pioneering units that has shaped agricultural and biosystems engineering education in the country. Its roots trace back to 1976, when the Department of Agricultural Engineering was first established under the Higher Education Project of Don Severino Agricultural College (DSAC), offering subjects that supported the BS Agriculture program.

Today, DAFE continues to uphold excellence in teaching, research, and extension services in the field of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (ABE). The department offers a comprehensive academic program that integrates engineering principles with agricultural, environmental, and food systems — preparing students to become competent and ethical engineers capable of addressing modern challenges in agriculture and rural development.

DAFE also engages in various research and community-based initiatives that promote sustainable technologies, resource-efficient farming systems, and innovations in food and environmental engineering. Through active collaborations with industry partners, government agencies, and local communities, the department strengthens its role in advancing agricultural modernization and sustainability.

With a dedicated team of faculty and staff, DAFE remains committed to developing globally competitive engineers who contribute to the progress of the nation while upholding the core values of truth, integrity, excellence, and service.
