Student Enrollment

Enrollment in the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (ABE) program at Cavite State University experienced notable growth during the 2018–2025 period, consistently surpassing initial projections. While information dissemination campaigns, conducted with the support of the PSABE-PPG CvSU Chapter, played a role in raising awareness about the program, much of the increase can be attributed to external factors. The implementation of the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (RA 10931), which provided free tuition to students, significantly boosted enrollment. Additionally, the shift to online enrollment during the pandemic made it easier for students to apply, while the university’s expanded admission capacity allowed it to accommodate a larger number of enrollees. Many students who were unable to secure slots in their preferred programs opted for ABE, ensuring they could continue their education at Cavite State University. Figure 1 below shows that year after year, the program exceeded its projected first-year enrollment figures. Projections shown in Figure 2 also depict a growing student population for BSABE. These numbers reflect the program's steady growth and its ability to adapt to changing circumstances, ensuring accessibility and maintaining a strong presence in the university.
