The Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering (DAFE) participated in the 5𝙩𝙝 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘼𝙜𝙧𝙤-𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮 (𝙞𝘾𝙀𝘼𝙏 2026), held on October 6–7, 2026, at the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Agriculture (SEARCA), UP Los Baños, Laguna. With the theme, "From Context to Impact: Localized engineering and integrated systems for a circular economy and future," the two-day conference featured plenary presentations and parallel technical sessions covering various fields of engineering and agro-industrial technology.
Several DAFE faculty members presented research studies during the parallel technical sessions, covering topics under Circular Bioeconomy and Agro-Waste Valorization; Localized Engineering Solutions for Agro-Industrial
Resilience & Renewable Energy Integration in Agro-industrial Systems; Sustainable Agriculture, Food Systems, Mechanization, and Industrial Systems; and Water, Soil, and Environmental Systems Engineering.
Several of these studies were developed through faculty-student collaboration, highlighting the department’s efforts to strengthen student involvement in research and innovation and translate academic work into practical contributions to agriculture and agro-industrial development. The research studies presented were as follows:
