The Philippine Society of Agricultural Engineers (PSAE) recognized two
faculty members of the Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering
as outstanding agricultural engineers during its 62nd Annual National
Convention on 23-27 April 2012 in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
Dr. Leyma L. Cero
received the “Outstanding Agricultural Engineer in Agricultural
Engineering Education” while Dr. Ruel M. Mojica was adjudged as
“Outstanding Agricultural Engineer in Postharvest Technology and Food
Engineering.” At present, Dr. Leyma L. Cero is the MIS officer of the
College of Engineering and Information Technology while Dr. Ruel M.
Mojica is the officer-in-charge of the National Coffee Research,
Development and Extension Center.
In addition, eight other awards were presented to outstanding professionals in other fields of agricultural engineering including the highest award, “Most Outstanding Agricultural Engineer – Maramba Award”, given to Dr. Manolito C. Bulaong from the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization in Muñoz, Nueva Ecija. (GMCastillo)
