Legazpi City, Albay - DAFE faculty, Engr. Kelvin Michael A. Crystal, was honored with the prestigious Most Outstanding Young ABE award during the 73rd PSABE National Convention. In his professional roles, he serves as a pivotal figure, overseeing projects related to agriculture as a National Project Coordinator at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Additionally, his role as an Associate Professor II at Cavite State University showcases his commitment to academic excellence and mentorship within the university setting.
His research contributions have significantly impacted the field, particularly in policy studies and rice security assessment. Engr. Crystal has authored proposals for important policy studies and played a key role in the RAAFMech Project, focusing on mechanization in rice production. Furthermore, his involvement in research projects like the "Assessment of Futures of Rice Security of the Philippines" showcase his dedication to informing strategies for sustainable rice production and food security.
