DAFE Faculty Members served as Resource Speakers in the BRIDGE 3 International Webinar Series

The Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering (DAFE) of Cavite State University (CvSU) actively contributed to the continuing BRIDGE 3 International Webinar Series through the participation of two of its faculty members as resource speakers during the Food Engineering module held on August 27, 2026.

Organized under the Building Resilient and Inclusive Development through Global Education (BRIDGE) 3 initiative, the online session brought together faculty members and learners from Cavite State University in the Philippines and Universitas Wahid Hasyim (UNWAHAS) in Indonesia. The webinar provided a venue for cross-border learning, knowledge exchange, and discussion of engineering-based approaches that can help strengthen food systems.

Engr. Arnel R. Feraer, DAFE faculty member, delivered a presentation on "Food Quality Evaluation". His discussion highlighted engineering approaches used to understand, assess, and maintain food quality across food processing and production systems.

Meanwhile, Dr. Richelle Mae D. Mendoza-Olpot, DAFE Chairperson, served as a resource speaker for the topic, "Food Parametric Modelling and Optimization". Her presentation explored how parametric modelling and optimization may be applied in developing more efficient, responsive, and innovative food engineering processes.

The DAFE family warmly congratulates Engr. Feraer and Dr. Mendoza-Olpot for representing the department and sharing their expertise in this international academic engagement, as this reflects DAFE’s continuing commitment to advancing food engineering education, promoting global collaboration, and contributing to the development of resilient and inclusive food systems (SLdeLeon).
