In celebration of Women’s Month, the Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering (DAFE) conducted its first-ever podcast titled “empowHER: Redefining Career Paths, Breaking Barriers, and Shaping the Future” on March 21, 2026.
The initiative aimed to highlight distinguished women alumni who have successfully navigated non-linear career paths and to emphasize the importance of supportive partnerships in enabling women to thrive both personally and professionally.
Hosted by
Engr. Arjay A. Arpia, the first episode featured Engr. Arnelyn S. Romilla and
Engr. Vincent V. Vergara, an ABE graduate couple and career-oriented
professionals. Their conversation explored their professional journeys, the
challenges they encountered along the way, and how mutual support and
understanding helped them grow in their respective careers.
The podcast highlighted the message that empowered women are often supported by equally empowering partners—captured in the theme, “Mas malakas si Juana, pag si Juan ay kasama.”
Following the successful launch of its first episode, another installment of the empowHER podcast is scheduled on Saturday, March 28, 2026, continuing the department’s efforts to promote gender empowerment, inclusive dialogue, and inspiring career narratives within the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering community (MSPerido).
