CvSU holds Agricultural Engineering alumni homecoming

The Cavite State University (CvSU) held a Grand Alumni Homecoming for its Agricultural Engineering graduates at the S.M. Rolle Hall, CvSU, Indang, Cavite on 9 September 2017. It was participated in by CvSU graduates from 1990 to 2017 of the Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering, mentors and guests.

During the program, Dr. Marilyn M. Escobar, Dean of CEIT, welcomed the guests and participants. Dr. Camilo A. Polinga, VP for Academic Affairs, delivered his inspirational message. Drs. David L. Cero and Leyma L. Cero, Director for Physical Plant Services and Director for Planning and Development, respectively, delivered their heartwarming remarks.

The homecoming was part of the General Assembly and Alumni Homecoming 2017  with the theme “Leaves of Gold and Silver: A Time to Remember” organized by Cavite State University Alumni Association, Inc. (CvSUAAI) in recognition of Jubilarian Batches (Batch 1992 – Silver, and Batch 1967 – Gold)

The whole event was spent for bonding of the participants wherein various games were held and several raffle prizes were awarded. Souvenir pictures by batches were also taken. (KACrystal)

Dr. Leyma L. Cero is the first VP for planning and development


The Department of Agricultural Food Engineering (DAFE) congratulates Dr. Leyma L. Cero for being designated vice president of the recently created Office of the Vice President for Planning and Development (OVPPD) of CvSU. Under OVPPD are the Planning Office and Institutional Development Office (formerly Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center). Dr. Cero is a faculty member and has served as chairperson of DAFE.

GIVE THANKS!: A Testimonial Ceremony for the Newly Registered Professional Agricultural Engineers of CvSU

Cavite State University, led by President Hernando B. Robles together with other officials, conducted a Testimonial Ceremony on October 12, 2017 at the Lasap Hall, Administration Building, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite to recognize the passers and topnotcher of the 2017 Agricultural Engineer Licensure Examination.

The university recorded an overall passing rate of 68.00% (17 out of 25 examinees). Engr. Melrose M. Salona placed ninth with an average rating of 81.32%. This milestone put Cavite State University as one of the universities in the country that excel in the field of agricultural engineering.

In President Robles' message during the testimonial ceremony, he reminded the passers that this is only the beginning of their great endeavors in life, to dream big and work hard because they are the pride of the university and they carry its name.

All of the newly registered professional agricultural engineers received a certificate of recognition. However, Engr. Melrose M. Salona received a plaque and a cash incentive from the university for her achievement. (JRDizon)

CvSU has 17 new registered professional agricultural engineers

Engr. Melrose M. Salona has proven that Cavite State University (CvSU) once again can excel alongside with great universities in the Philippines in the field of Agricultural Engineering. Engr. Salona garnered the ninth place in the 2017 Licensure Examination for Agricultural Engineers on August 23-24, 2017 with a rating of 81.32%. The examination was administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and CvSU obtained a passing rate of 68% (17 out of 25 takers).

The PRC also announced that a total of 630 out of 1,304 examinees passed the said exam which translates into a national passing rate of 48.31%. The examination was held in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Legazpi and Tuguegarao.

DAFE welcomes new faculty members


The Department welcomes its two new part-time instructors, namely: Mr. Jose Carlo R. Dizon and Ms. Melrose M. Salona. The two are fresh graduates of Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering and plans to take the Licensure Examination for Agricultural Engineers in August 2017. Mr. Dizon and Ms. Salona are teaching mathematics and AE subjects.
